Part II: 7.5 Things You Should Know About Craig & Annette Hohnberger
1. Our Family
We have been happily married since 1994 and are very blessed to have 2 beautiful and talented daughters, Leah and Lauren, who bring incredible joy to our lives. We are raising them to be passionate, to live life to the fullest, to give back and to pursue their dreams. We also share our home with a very fun-loving golden retriever named Peanut. In addition to just hanging out together and with friends, we enjoy travelling, outdoor activities and being the taxi drivers to our girls sports and activities. Annette was born and raised in Western Ohio and Craig is from Wisconsin (yes, he is a 'Cheesehead' and die-hard Badger and Packer fan).
2. Our Passion
We both believe that life is far too short to spend your time doing what you do unless it is both professionally and personally rewarding and something you truly believe in. Your career should add to and enhance life, not compete with it! And that goes for our clients and our franchise owners both. Our passion, therefore, is to help as many people as we can to achieve true career and life balance by providing opportunities and bridges for them to passionately go after their goals. For some that will be an ActionCOACH franchise, for others the opportunity to work with one of our coaches and yet for others, hope and inspiration to "Go For It!" - whatever that may be for them. We specifically enjoy helping the leaders of our business community (and our franchise owners as the leaders of those leaders) because of the sheer impact they have on so many people.
3. Our Success & Leadership
We and our local team of franchise owners have been recognized in ActionCOACH both nationally and globally, having won several presitigious awards that, among others, range from U.S. Territory of the Year to Global Franchisee of the Year; from Best Client Results in North America to winning several of the coveted ActionMAN Awards (both globally and nationally). Further, Craig along with several of our local franchise owners are on the global training team that trains new franchise owners. In addition, Craig was named to Columbus Business First 40 Under 40 Professionals in Central Ohio (when he was under 40) and our business was named Pickerington Area Chamber of Commerce New Business of the Quarter and New Business of the Year. Craig was instrumental in founding the first Executive Council of Master Licensees and both he and Annette have served on the Board of Directors. Craig has also been on the boards of directors of both the Ohio Small Business Council (Ohio Chamber of Commerce) and the Pickerington Area Chamber of Commerce.
4. Our Experience
We have a wealth of experience to draw upon, both inside and outside of ActionCOACH. We are now the 3rd most tenured Master Licensees in ActionCOACH globally so have seen a lot through the years. Initially we started by coaching our own clients so we've walked in the same shoes as our franchise owners, and we continue to coach today. Our experience has taught us several things - that with the right people (passion, skills, desire) - coupled with the right opportunity, one with superior services, training and support - we can do amazing things - not only for ourselves, but for all of our clients and our local communities. We are therefore only looking for the RIGHT people to award franchises to - people who are passionate about success, passionate about business and passionate about helping others achieve their goals.
Prior to ActionCOACH, Craig was a successful supply chain exec with a number of large companies and involved with several business acquisitions and turnarounds. Annette had a successful corporate background in accounting and systems analysis and just prior to ActionCOACH she had the pleasure to be a 'stay-at-home mom' until our youngest daughter started school, when she joined Craig in the business. 5. Our Goals
We are in the process of building the best and most successful territories in all of ActionCOACH and have a passion to help impact our local economies to not only recover, but to actually lead the nation in business and employment success and entrepreneurialism. In support of the corporate vision and mission of ActionCOACH, our existing local team of franchise owners set a very aggressive goal to reach 10% market penetration in the years to come - meaning 10% of all business owners will be working with an ActionCOACH. In fact, we call it the 3 A's of business... an Accountant (to provide historical information), an Attorney (to protect assets) and an ActionCOACH (to guide and build the future success). Our personal goal from the regional office is to get to 1% penetration with the right Firm owners who are committed and driven enough to build organic growth to the 10% level and beyond. When we get there however, as aggresive as that goal is, it means a full 90% of the business owners in our region will still not have access to the powerful programs and methodologies we offer. And unfortunately, based on business survival statistics, we know that the vast majority of them will evertually cease to exist and their personal dreams and goals will perish with their businesses. So, we have a very important mission to help as many of those people as we possibly can. We will only be able to do so with the right people.
6. What lead us to join ActionCOACH
After travelling so much with Craig’s prior jobs and trying to juggle the demands of family and career, we finally decided in late 2000 to take control over our own destiny. We wanted it all... balance with our personal life and our values, the opportunity to create our own success on our terms, to run a business with the values and principals we believe in, to do something that helps people and the community in general, to leave a legacy and to have the opportunity to produce the income and lifestyle we were accustomed to. After kicking the tires of a number of businesses across various industries, we were intrigued by an ActionCOACH ad in the Wall Street Journal... "Wanted: People with Passion, People with Heart"... "use your business and leadership skills coupled with our proven methodologies to help other business owners achieve their goals".
After inquiring furher and completing our due diligence, we were literally blown away with everything ActionCOACH provided. If you are anything like us, you want to be a part of something special, something that is groiwng and leading and something that can generate you a strong ROI both financially and in ways far beyond the financial. 7. Our Team
Our job is to ensure 'the right people get on the bus' in our territory, and we are blessed to have a great foundation of fabulous people to build from. The people on our team are easily some of the best people we've ever had the privilege to work with in our lives. ActionCOACH provides a phenomenal 'bus' with the best tools and methodologies and resources in the industry. Coupled with the right people, the 'bus' will get to the right place. In fact, we're so serious about this that our existing team of franchise owners helps us formally decide who will be awarded the chance to join our team.
The support, training, intellectual property and sheer opportunity ActionCOACH provides is world-class. ActionCOACH has consistently been rated the #1 Business Coaching Company in our industry, both in the U.S. and globally, and we will continue to do so. 7.5 Beyond ActionCOACH
As it is for many people attracted to ActionCOACH, our goals go far beyond just our coaching (Master Licensee) business. In fact, they've been stretched a lot since being immersed in the ActionCOACH environment. We are very passionate about charity and helping those less fortunate than us. One of the charities we are currently involved in with several other ActionCOACH franchisees is helping support inner city youth from the Oyler School in Cincinnati make it through high school successfully where we will then cover their college educations. There should be 10 kids graduating this year when in the past less than 2 per year from Oyler actually graduated high school.
On the business side, as we move forward, we feel called to leverage the systems, strategies, methodologies and opportunities ActionCOACH has provided to buy, build and grow a portfolio of businesses in other industries over time. These businesses will have strong principal-based cultures similar to ActionCOACH and be a vehicle to not only help create more wealth, but to also provide a place for exceptional people at all levels (from shop floor to the C-level) to be able to contribute and reap the rewards of hard work and a great culture and all be treated with the same level of dignity and respect as human beings. That provides us a platform to help many more people than we can today (only a small % of people are a great fit for ActionCOACH) and be able to fulfill our passions, while having a whole lot of fun growing more businesses. Eventually we'll get into larger acquisitions like Craig was involved with in his former life. |
